Brass Practice - Summer 2020
Dear Brass Players and Brass Players' Parents,
Really well done if you managed to keep practising during the 'lockdown'.
If you've done quite a lot, you are bound to have improved.
If you've just done a bit, you probably won't be too rusty when we get back in September.
I know that for most of us this has probably been quite a challenge - these are loud instruments and we've all got family and neighbours to consider. So don't worry if you haven't been able to play at all - we'll try really hard to catch you up next term.
If you're enjoying it, please don't stop - carry on playing over the summer holiday too!
I'll be around most of the time and checking my email regularly:
Do get in touch if you'd like some extra help.
Have a great summer - I'm looking forward to seeing you all next term!

Summer Holiday!
Scroll down or use the menu on the left to find your class
Don't worry if your practise list is starting to look a bit long and you feel you're falling behind.
Work at your own pace!
What if ...
1. I left my instrument at school ?
There are still things you can do without an instrument. Listen to the demo tracks, watch the videos. Practice your valve and slide positions with an imaginary instrument and spend a few minutes every day buzzing your lips. It might be possible to collect your instrument from school - let me know if you'd like to and I'll find out.
2. My valves are stuck / My slide is really stiff ?
Brass teacher Deirdre Box has made some great videos to show you how to get them working again. CLICK HERE
3. I'm stuck and confused / Nothing seems to be working / I have a question ?
Email Rod: (always happy to help!)
4. I can do all this - give me something new!
Please keep looking at your practice page - I add new things every week.
There are quite a lot of new tunes on the Brass Pages now. Have a look!
Let me know if you need some suggestions.
